Rainbow Rims and Crystal Geyser Trail, Moab, UT

In march, 2015 we visited the Rainbow Rims area northwest of Moab and went from there via the Crystal Geysir Trail to Green River, UT. Mal was with us and had not seen that part of the Island in the Sky district.

We left US313 at Dubinky Well Road and followed that road.
After airing down, we went ahead on Dubinky Well Rd.
Tombstone (The Needle) and the Rainbow Rocks are left of us.
We stopped at the well along Dubinky Well Rd.
After continuing from the well, we went on a lesser trail to the left and followed it towards the rim.
We had an excellent view towards Tombstone and Rainbow Rocks.
From some higher elevation, we could see Tenmile Butte.
Rainbow Rocks...
View....
Mal, exploring the rim.
View towards the San Rafael Swell.
Scenery...
...
The Bookcliffs in the background...
Short picture stop at the rim.
Mal and Astrid...
Some more views.
We went in a different road from Dubinky Well Rd.
And enjoyed some more scenery.
Most of those roads have a gate off Dubinky Well Rd.

One more rim stop...
We went in one more side road...
...but there was a steep rocky drop off, which seemed not to be passable for Mal´s truck.
So we turned around and followed another side road and stopped for lunch. In the background, the Bookcliffs are visible.
On our way back to Dubinky Well Rd.
We went down towards Blue Hills Rd. and Levy Well Rd.
From there we made over way on a very good gravel road.
Even some traffic signs had been here.
Here we went left. The right fork goes up towards I70.
Stil an easy road.
Here we went right.
We followed that good road and stopped, after Astrid told me, she wants to have a look on this wall.
We saw a lot of jasper here.
A huge wall of jasper...
There had been also a lot of rock specimens along the road.
After some time, we left that spot and continued on our way to Green River.
We left that road on a lesser road to the right. There was a sign for Crystal Geyser trail there. That road was not on our Topo map.
We had some nice views...
Finally, we made it back on the better road. This was a very nice and still easy side trip.
The Bookcliffs are also quite close.
We continued...
Down at the water should be Crystal Geyser. That was our next 'target'.
